The Biratnagar customs office in the Biratnagar-Jogabani border entry point has come into operation since the past few days after protesters affiliated to Samyukta Loktantrik Madhesi Morcha relaxed their programmes of protest.
The cargo freights that were stuck on either side of the border entry point have been entering and leaving in a normal manner.
The normalisation of cargo entry has been causing traffic jams at the border. Both, Indian and Nepali customs officials have set separate timings for the cargo freights to cross the border point so as to reduce the traffic congestion.
Meanwhile, Nepali security officials, citing protests at the border entry point, said that they were unable to install Closed Circuit Television system at the border. The CCTV system in the Rani border area have been out of service since the past one year.
