Winter drizzle pushes mercury down across country

Temperature plummeted across the country Saturday, following the change in weather due to the influence of the westerly wind.

With the change in weather, many parts in the country including Pokhara, Dang, most parts in the far-western region and the capital witnessed rainfall today, senior meteorologist Shiva Nepal said. The weather will start improving from tomorrow, he said.

According to the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, Weather Forecasting Division, Dadeldhura received 22.5 millimeters (mm) rainfall, Dipayal 28.8 mm, Dhangadhi 21.8 mm, Surkhet 24.4 mm and Nepalgunj 22.2 mm rain today.  Similarly, 13.2 mm rainfall was recorded in Jumla and 2.3 mm in Pokhara.

The minimum temperature of the Kathmandu valley on Saturday was 7.8 degrees Celsius and it will drop tomorrow. The Kathmandu valley witnessed light rainfall today.
