Bailey bridge constructed over Kaligandaki River

The 56-meter-long bridge has been constructed by the Mistri Stream Hydropower Project at a cost of Rs. 40 million. With the construction of the bridge, the Narchayang VDC is directly linked with the road network (Beni-Jomsom route).
According to Narchyang Water Concern Committee member Tej Gurung, another 36-meter-long Bailey bridge is being constructed over the local Mistri Stream. The project has decided to construct bridges as a part of the development of physical infrastructures to ease the hydro power construction.
Locals who were facing difficulty to cross the river due to lack of effective means of transport have now felt a great relief following the completion of bridge construction, Gurung said who is also the principal of local Prabha Secondary School.
The run-of-the-river type project is expected to start power generation by 2073 BS. The estimated cost of the project is Rs. 5.5 billion and the Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) has granted a construction license to the Robust Energy Private Limited Kathamandu. RSS
