Ratnajit Tamang, Bikash Shrestha, Dipesh Dhami and Sudip Sedhai made it to the men’s singles semi-finals of the 10th Krishna Mohan Memorial Open Badminton Championships on Thursday.
The Tribhuvan Army Club (TAC) shuttlers Tamang dispatched Sahadev Khadka of Nepal Armed Police (APF) Club 21-16, 21-15 while Sedhai saw off fellow APF clubmate Sajan Krishna Tamrakar 21-16, 21-16. Likewise, Shrestha beat APF clubmate Bishal Pradhan 21-9, 21-9 and Dhami of TAC overcame Pankaj Chand of APF 21-14, 21-19.
Securing the semi-final berths in the U-17 boys’ singles were three APF shuttlers Dilendra Pun, Nabin Shrestha and Nir Bikram Devkota and Gautam Kathayat of Kailali. Pun beat Sawan Shrestha 13-21, 21-13, 21-14. Shrestha ousted Ashish Thapaliya 21-6, 21-11, Devkota beat Bishal Tamang of TAC 21-16, 17-21, 21-18 and Kathayat beat Sashin Dangol of Nepal Police Club (NPC) 15-21, 21-15, 21-11.
Bishal Pradhan-Bimal Shrestha, Bikash Shrestha-Nabin Shrestha, Bishnu Katuwal-Bijit Thapa Magar, and Ratnajit-Ram Rai entered the men’s doubles semi-finals.
