Minister Rijal stresses on disciplined journalism

Minister for Information and Communications Dr Minendra Rijal has said constitution-drafting along with creating the basis for prosperity in the country are the priorities of the government.
Addressing a welcome programme organised in his honour by the Reporters' Club Nepal in the Capital on Wednesday, he stressed the need of an environment conducive for drafting a new constitution and leading the country towards economic progress.
"Now the game of forming and pulling down governments should be discouraged to meet the above mentioned targets," he added.
He said maximum utilisation of abundant natural resources available in the country would also be the priority of the incumbent government. Minister Rijal who is from the Nepali Congress in the NC- UML coalition government argued that writing a democratic constitution acceptable to all is the top priority of the government.
"The government is for serving the people and the nation and the new government would work bearing in mind its responsibilities to the people and nation." The Communications Minister further pledged maximum efforts to establish journalism which is developing as an attractive profession, as a disciplined and ideal profession too. RSS
