Uncertainty looms over teachers' result
The fate of thousands of teachers across the country is in quandary due to the delay in the publication of the result taken by the Teachers Service Commission (TSC).Ekantipur Report
The result process was brought to a halt after the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority's (CIAA) issued a directive to put on hold the results.
Earlier in December, the CIAA issued such directives in response to complaints of irregularities in the announcement of the written tests conducted in June last year after a gap of nearly 17 years.
A total of 4, 13,000 teachers had appeared in the examination conducted by the TSC. Of which, the results of the written examination of lower secondary and secondary level category has been published. Around 11,000 have already passed the written tests for the secondary level.
However, secondary level's interview tests have been halted following CIAA directives.
"According to our plan, by now we should have completed all the procedures for hiring new teachers. The schools would have got permanent teachers," said an official at the TSC. "The Commission is unaware of the complaint at the CIAA. The process of hiring teachers has been stalled for now. We will continue the process once there is a solution."
