Fine was a blessing in disguise: Mukhiya
Jitendra Mukhiya, who starred with the ball during Nepal’s historic win over Afghanistan in World T20, said the team's decision to discipline hims turned out to be a blessing in disguise.Mukhiya returned with a match-winning figures of 3-14 in Nepal’s thrilling nine-run win over Afghanistan at the ZAC Stadium in the third and final match. The right-handed medium pacer was imposed a fine of $30 by the team management for showing up late for the first practice session in Dhaka. Mukhiya said that punishment fired him up to perform better in the tournament.
“The punishment came at the right time as it provided an incentive to push myself an extra mile further both in practice as well as in the match to show that I am serious with my business,” said Mukhiya.
Commenting of the match, Muhkiya said: “The only thing in my mind when I got the ball in the latter stage of the game was to do my basic rights. Mukhiya finished the tournament with four wickets, only one shy of leading Nepali wicket-taker Shakti Gauchan. The 5.7” inches tall medium pacer, who exposed the strong Afghanistan batting lineup, said he was glad to have been able to prove his captain’s faith right.
