Janajati struggle committee announces fresh stir
The Indigenous Nationalities Joint Struggle Committee has announced fresh agitation programmes saying that the government disregarded the agreement signed earlier.Ekantipur Report
The INJSC said it has made public preliminary agitation programmes but would intensify their programmes if the authorities continued to turn deaf ear to their demands.
The protest programmes were made public by sister organisations of various political parties at a press conference organised in the Capital on Sunday.
They said the agitation is aimed at guarding against the attempts to suppress the issues such as federalism based on ethnic identity, right to self determination, political prerogative and secularism raised by ethnic people.
"We have demanded the government comply with the pacts signed earlier with indigenous people in letter and spirit," said Malla K Sundar, a defender of indigenous people's rights, at the press meet.
The leaders of the committee have accused the major political parties of being indulged in the game of "mathematical number" using the power of their majority.
