PM Koirala hopeful of House resumption
Prime Minister and Nepali Congress President Sushil Koirala has expressed hope that the House proceedings would resume soon.Ekantipur Report
During his meeting with party cadres in Biratnagar on Wednesday morning, he said talks between the government and top political leaders are on to resume the House business which was halted due to the obstruction by the opposition parties. The constitution drafting process and budget announcement have been affected due to parliament obstructions and it should be cleared soon, he stressed.
PM said the government is committed to enforcing the four-point agreement, urging the opposition parties to recognize the goodwill of the government and help resume the Legislature-Parliament as quickly as possible.
"Establishing peace and stability in the country and giving the people a democratic constitution within January 22, 2015 is the goal of the incumbent government and it would never backtrack from its goal," he said.
He said corruption prevention and establishment of good governance are the priorities of his government and sought cooperation from one and all to this regard.
The Nepali Congress president further said peace and constitution are the wishes of the Nepali people and appealed to the party cadres to provide all possible support to the government to meet the people's aspirations.
