Bank Official Kidnapped: Police yet to nab abductors
The police investigation into the abduction of Krishna Sah, a chartered accountant at the regional branch of Rashtriya Banjya Bank, has made no headway so far.Abadhesh Kumar Jha
Sah's relatives had informed the Area Police Office in Duhabi and filed a complaint after he did not return home from his office on June 4.
Superintendent of Police Bishwo Raj Pokhrel said said the kidnappers might have been waiting for an opportunity to demand ransom. Sources said the kidnappers have already called the family for ransom. The family, however, did not want to divulge further information fearing that the abductors may harm Sah.
Police have deployed a special team which has been scouring the south-eastern region of Sunsari and bordering villages in both the districts. Police said they have been coordinating with Indian police for the search.
The regional office of the bank, where Sah worked, has expressed ignorance about his abduction. Gopal Prasad Poudel, regional chief of the bank, confirmed that Sah was a chartered accountant at the office but said they knew nothing about his abduction.
Poudel said Sah has not shown up since June 5. The bank is planning to issue a notice on Sah's name to attend the office.
Police has taken six people into custody to investigate into the matter and Pokhrel claimed they have identified the mastermind behind the kidnapping. Pokhrel, however, denied divulging the details saying it could endanger Sah's life.
