Government urged for prompt relief to landslide victims
The government has been criticized for not providing immediate relief to the landslide victims.At the meeting of the Legislature-Parliament on Thursday, the lawmakers drew the attention of the government and parliament that the people affected from landslides in different parts of the country were in dire need of relief and compensation.
They also made the government aware that many civil servants and teachers from remote Achham, Bajhang, Bajura and Jajarkot districts were worried over the curtailment of incentives.
Similarly, the lawmakers speaking at the Parliament meeting demanded the government to announce various districts of southern plain as Mahottari as dryness-hit area and provide relief to the farmers who have not planted rice for short of rainfall.
Making such views and demands were Sarbhendra Nath Shukla, Kamal Prasad Pangeni, Rekha Sharma and Prakash Jwala.
Other lawmakers, at zero hour, spoke on various problems including gang rape of a girl in Nepalgunj and murder of gangster Dinesh Adhikari 'Chari' in police retaliation.
