Modi handed over the helicopter with maximum take-off weight of 5,500 kg this evening amid a special function also attended by Prime Minister Sushil Koirala.
The government of India provided the helicopter to Nepal Army as part of the assistance exchange between the two nations.
The 14-seater Advanced Light Helicopter (AHL) was indigenously developed and manufactured by Hindustan Aeronautics Limited, India.
It is said that the helicopter has the capacity of maximum cargo sling of 1,500 kg and can fly even over 20,000 feet.
Indian External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj and Chief of Army Staff (CoAS) Gaurav SJB Rana were also present during the occasion.
