In a Youtube video, Foundation Chairman Younus AlGohar gave the ultimatum saying that his group members were arrested without any cause. He demanded the government hand over the arrested cadres to UNHCR.
“No one has the power to harm my men,” said Al Gohar in the 33-minute video, “We came to serve the people of Nepal and not to expand terrorism.”
Addressing PM Koirala, the foundation Chairman has said, “If you want to know what is happening in your country and have knowledge about democracy then read the messages that are with our members and salute them for working for your people.”
In the video, Al- Gohar stated that Nepali people were deprived of drinking water and claimed that his men were able to heal illness. “I will call back my men and the Nepali will be stripped of the services provided by us,” said Al- Gohar, “Terrorists come with guns and bombs not with treatises of peace.”
“How could the Nepal police think that people who have come in the name of peace are terrorists, he said, “This is against the UN declaration.” AlGohar also expressed his reservations against the media of portraying his foundation as a terrorist organisation.
Police on Sunday had arrested Roshan Bharati, 36, of Jhapa for tipping off the police on 25 November showing an email which stated that Al Qaeda, an international terrorist group, is set to attack Pasupatinath on December 6, which later turned out to be a hoax.
The email prompted immediate police actions, including arrest of over 20 people, including five Pakistanis, two Nepalis and Indians for interrogation on December 6.
All those arrested except the five Pakistanis were released the same day. Police said they are still in the custody for overstaying in Nepal even after expiry of their visa.
