Tata rolls out all new Zest sedan in Nepal
Tata Motors rolled out its latest compact sedan, the Zest, in Nepal on Friday. While the petrol version comes with a starting price of Rs 2.49 million, the diesel variant starts at Rs 3.07 MThe company also opened sales and bookings for the vehicles across the country with the sales network of Sipradi Trading, Tata’s Nepal distributor.
The compact sedan will be available in three petrol and while four diesel variants, and comes in six colour options.
Speaking at the launch, Johnny Oommen, head of International Business at Tata Motors, said: “Zest is seeing good demand in India and we hope to reciprocate the same here. Both the petrol and diesel versions come with their unique segment-firsts and we are confident it will delight our consumers with its design, driving pleasure and great connectivity features.”
The car come with 29 segment-first features, he said. Sipradi Chairman Siddharth Rana said the Zest will play crucial role in increase Tata’s market share in Nepal. “With the new product, we are aiming to increase our market share to 15 percent from 11 this year,” he said, adding they aim to sell 300 units of Zest this fiscal year.
The all-new Zest exudes excitement and energy and is designed to give the driver total control of the vehicle, according to the company. It is the first vehicle from Tata Motors that exemplifies the “Horizonext” themes of intense product focus, world-class manufacturing quality, enriched purchase experience and consistent quality of service for its passenger vehicle business, it added.
The car comes with a new “Revotron” 1.2 litre petrol engine, and “Quadrajet” 1.3 litre diesel engine. Tata has offered its diesel version with an automated manual transmission (AMT).
The sedan uses completely new panels, heavily revised interiors and improved suspension setup.
The petrol and diesel engines, mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox, produce a maximum power of 90ps.
The sedan features three multi-driving options including City, Eco and Sport. Other features include alloy wheel, air conditioner with heater, foldable key, front power windows, manual central locking, Immobiliser and signature LED tail lamps, among others.
