CIAA drags 14 NPAF officials to court
The Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority has filed a corruption charge-sheet against 14 employees of Nepal Poverty Alleviation Fund at the Special Court.Ekantipur Report
The anti-graft body has pressed the charges of excessive spending and submitting fake bill during advance clearance against the officials. The NPAF is run under the Prime Minister and Cabinet Office.
The commission has sought Rs 27.3 million in restitution from NPAF Executive Director Raja Babu Shrestha, and Rs 27.6 million from account officer Prabin Ghimire. Likewise, the commission has demanded Rs 23.5 million in damages from administration and finance chief.
The accused officials are manager Lal Bahadur Shiva, Dhanraj Sah, Ajaya Kumar Patel, Sanjaya Kumar Jha, Jayaraj Panta, Sandeep Raj Uprety, Akhilesh Chandra Das, Hem Raj Uprety, Durga Bahadur Gandhari.
Likewise, account officers, Dilip Raj Joshi, and Satish Krishna Chaudhari have also been made defendant of the charge-sheet.
