7 killed, 7 hurt in road accidents
Seven persons died and as many others were injured in two separate road accidents in Makwanpur and Dhading districts on Sunday.A private car with Indian registration swerved off the road and fell some 200 metres at Kulekhani-6 along the Bhimphedi-Kulekhani stretch, killing five persons and injuring two others. All the victims are Indian nationals. The vehicle was on its way to Kathmandu from Hetauda.
Ghanshyam Prasad, 60, and Deviyanyi Devi, 63, of India had died on the died while Riya Verma, 10, Basantosh Teda, 60, and Piyas Verman, 10, breathed their last in hospitals in Kathmandu. The two injured, children aged 8 and 12, are receiving care in Vayodha Hospital in the Capital, said police. The seven are said to be relatives.
In Dhading, 10-year-old Anisha Magar and her seven-year-old sister Aashika died when a jeep had an accident at Nilkantha-1. The siblings were heading to school. The injured, including the driver, were sent to Kathmandu following primary treatment at the district hospital.
