Fifty-year-old Saraswati Dhami of Krishnapur VDC died after being crushed by a mango tree near her house while 52-year-old Ram Bahadur Singh of Dodhara Chadani Municipality died by being buried under a cowshed.
The injured are being treated at Mahakali Zonal Hospital in Bhimdutta Municipality.
Trees have been uprooted in most parts of the district while tin roof of several houses and schools have been blown away. Electricity supply has been cut off due to fallen utility poles.
“Initial information show that the storm has caused damages from Dodhara Chadani beyond the Mahakali River to Raikwar Bichawa VDC in the district,” SP Pradhan of District Police Office said.
