Preparations have started for shifting the Singhadurbar-based Office of Prime Minister and Council of Ministers and the Office of National Planning Commission to safer locations. Both offices suffered damages in the recent earthquake.
The offices will be shifted to a building inside the Singha Durbar and we are searching for a suitable place, said OPMCM Secretary Shanta Raj Subedi. Both offices are in a vulnerable condition after the earthquake.
Besides, suggestions have also been received for moving the Office of Investment Board located next to the Constituent Assembly (CA) building New Baneshwor and the Prime Minister's official residence, at Baluwatar to a safer place, it is learnt.
Singhadurbar-based other government offices which were damaged by the earthquake are also in a process of shifting. The Defense Ministry has already been moved to the Office of National Security Council.
