Create environment for reconstruction and constitution drafting: PM Koirala
The Prime Minister Sushil Koirala has expressed best wishes to all Nepalis at home and abroad on the occasion of the Republic Day that brought the entire rights to the sovereign citizens.In his message on the occasion of Republic Day, PM Koirala said that this year's Republic Day has come amid the irreparable loss of human lives and properties caused by the imaginable earthquake of April 25 and the aftershocks. He expressed deep condolences to all who sacrificed their lives in the movements so far to empower the people.
Likewise, PM Koirala has praised the contribution of the democracy fighters and wished for the speed recovery of those who were injured the democratic movements.
The unexpected earthquakes have pushed the Executive and Legislature to unite for search, rescue, relief and rehabilitation of the quake-affected Nepalis in this hour when the country was preparing for the draft of a democratic constitution through mutual coordination, unity and conciliation.
He also expressed confidence that the tasks of reconstruction in support and coordination of all political parties and writing the democratic constitution would go side by side.
The PM has added that priority should be given for the elections of the local bodies, adding that search, rescue, relief and rehabilitation in the time of crisis would have been moved ahead in an effective manner if elected representatives were there in the local bodies.
PM Koirala has also expected supports of all political parties and citizens to create environment for reconstruction of the damaged physical property and draft a democratic constitution to make the country prosperous and peaceful by translating the federalism, republic, religious freedom, human rights, social justice, inclusiveness, participatory ruling system and other democratic norms in action.
Meanwhile, Former Chairman of Council of Ministers Khil Raj Regmi wished for the resilience on the Nepali brothers and sisters to move forward in the path of creating a better future.
In a message delivered today on the occasion of the 8th Republic Day, Regmi wished for resilience during the time of a painful scenario, and ability to move ahead to enhance one's capability and create a better future.
He also expressed deep grief over the loss of lives and properties in the massive earthquake which struck the country on April 25. Mr Regmi also extended condolences on those who lost their lives in the quake and prayed for the eternal peace to the departed souls while wishing for fast recovery of those who sustained injuries.
