The Chairman of MJF-N Upendra Yadav, FSPN Chairman Ashok Rai and Khas Samabeshi Party Chairman Yuvraj Karki jointly announced the unification of parties by jointly lighting a torch. The party's election symbol is torch.
The official unification of the parties took place at Newa Banquet at Shorakhutte, Kathmandu.
The three parties which have 15 lawmakers, including 10 from the MJF-N and 5 from the FSPN, in the Constituent Assembly have merged to intensify their efforts to revive the fast “fading” Madhesi and Janajati movement in the country.
In a joint statement issued on Sunday, the three parties said that the existing political forces in the country are incapable of addressing the problems of Nepali society and ensure progressive change. They claimed that their unification will give birth to a “new alternative force” in the country.
Leaders have said that the unification was just a beginning of a long-conceived campaign to bring the regional and ethnic parties under one political banner.
