Nepalgunj inundated following incessant rainfall

Various places in Nepalgunj and its nearby areas have been inundated since Thursday night following incessant downpours for the past several hours. Hundreds of houses in Nepalgunj, Banke district, have been waterlogged affecting the public life.
Major choks and roads including BP Chok, Ganeshpur, Bhrikuti Nagar, among other places, in the city have been waterlogged. Likewise, the Nepalgunj-Surkhet road section which is under construction has been muddy due to the rain.
Similarly, a high alert notice has been issued in Kailali district due to growing concerns over floods due to continuous rainfall since two days, according to state news agency (RSS).
The District Emergency Operation Centre under the District Administration Office on Thursday issued a public notice, urging the general public to remain alert for flash floods and inundation. The centre has also urged the security agencies, local disaster management committee and work-force, all branches of Red Cross Society and other organisations to remain alert regarding the matter.
