Gold price in the domestic market has jumped sharply by Rs 1,400 per tola on Friday. The precious metal is being traded at Rs 51,600 per tola, against Rs 50,200 per tola on Thursday.
This is the highest rate since two months. Price has started falling since June 23, 2015 when the gold was traded at Rs 51,800 per tola. Federation of Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers Association (Fenegosida) which fixes the prices in domestic market has fixed the new rate, citing the upward trend of gold in the international market and strengthening dollar prices. Fenegosida has set the new rate on the base of $1165.20 in the international market on Friday, drop from $1138 of earlier day.
Similarly, the US dollar has also reached new high of Rs105.40 on Friday.
