People are facing severe difficulties as the prices of daily commodities have soared in the district. The prices of vegetables, pulses and other items have skyrocketed as the halt in vehicular movement has cut off the supplies.
Lack of transportation has also forced migrant workers to pay high fare in air transport to fly to Kathmandu and leave for foreign employment.
Banda activists have burned tyres on the main market areas since early morning. Government offices have also remained shut affecting the service-seekers in the district.
Ambulance torched in Rautahat
Morcha activists have torched an ambulance of Gaur Municipality in Rautahat district last night.
The activists have accused the ambulance of transporting police ammunitions. They asked the driver to get off the vehicle and torched it at Kabir Chowk last night, police said.
The ambulance (Na 3 Cha 863) has been completely damaged in the arson.
