A district security committee meeting this morning has decided to mobilise Nepal Army in 10 VDCs of the district in Kailali.
Following violent clashes in the district on Monday, where eight persons, mostly security personnel, lost their lives, the meeting decided to use NA to further calm the situation in VDCs situated in the vicinity of Tikapur.
The meeting declared Manowa, Joshipur, Durgauli, Dhansinghpur, Narayanpur, Tathariya, Khailad, Bhajanu and Bahauniya VDCs as riot affected areas where NA will be mobilised.
Meanwhile, police fired multiple shells of tear gas to disperse crowds at Narayanpur, Bhajani and Joshipur VDCs gathered for demonstrations early morning.
The District Administration Office has also enforced curfew at Dhangadi and Bhadini Municipalities from 11 am to 2 pm today.
NA mobilised in Rautahat
Nepal Army soldiers have also been mobilised in Rautahat district.
Following a clash on Monday, the district administration declared a 42-km long stretch from Gaur to Chandrapur Municipalities as riot affected area and mobilised the army from this morning, said Rautahat Chief District Officer Madan Bhujel.
Bhujel informed that the decision to mobilise army was taken after a district security meeting this morning. At least 35 persons were injured in Monday’s clash in the district.
