Kalaiya tense: one killed, 17 injured in firing
A person died and 17 others injured in Kalaiya, the headquarters of Bara district, during violent clashes between the protesters and security personnel on Tuesday.

Hifajat Miyan, of Kalaiya-10, sustained a bullet fired by a policeman during the clash. The demonstrators have taken possession of Miyan’s body.
The protesters and security personnel are still clashing. The security personnel have been firing blank shots and lobbing teargas shells to disperse the agitating boy.
Ten people were injured in police firing in the afternoon, while seven others were injured in the morning encounters.
Cadres of Samyukta Loktantrik Madhesi Morcha (SLMM) and police have been engaged in sporadic clashes since early morning on Tuesday. Police fired over three dozen teargas shells. The injured people sustained rubber bullets and have been undergoing treatment in Kalaiya Hospital.
Meanwhile, Tarai Madhes Loktantrik Party (TMLP) leader Jitendra Sonal has made it clear that he was not attacked.
