Tension ran high after protesters demanding Nepal be declared as a Hindu state tried to cross the prohibited area in Baneshwor, Kathmandu on Tuesday.
Police lobbed teargas shells and used water cannon at the cadres of Hindu Rastra Campaign led by Nepal Congress leader Khum Bahadur Khadka after they tried to cross the prohibited zone. Baneshwor area is still in chaos.
Meanwhile, RPP Nepal cadres have organised a sit-in at the western side of Constituent Assembly (CA) building in Baneshwor.
The party took out a rally from Tripureshwor that finally converged outside the CA at New Baneshwor.
