Prana Mundi to perform in Europe
Classical Nepali band Prana Mundi is all set to perform in different countries across Europe, starting today.Classical Nepali band Prana Mundi is all set to perform in different countries across Europe, starting today. The band, a Kathmandu-based quartet, will be playing venues in Belgium, Switzerland, the Netherlands, Germany, Austria and Hungary.
The tour, titled Visit Nepal-Help Nepal Rise, is supported by U-Turn Entertainment, an organisation that aims to promote community development.
The band hope they will be able to promote Nepal as a tourist destination abroad: After a series of earthquakes hit the country earlier this year, foreigners are still hesitant to visit the country. The organisers hope that Prana Mundi will be able to dispel this misconception through the band’s messaging and concerts.
At the concerts, the band will be performing fusion/folk and traditional Nepali music. Their performance in each venue will last for around two hours. The band members include Pratap KC (on flute), Bijya Shrestha (on sitar), Suren Lama (on guitar) and Manoj Gautam (on tabala). The month-long tour will end on September 30.
