Speaking at the launch of a hand book about safety for professional women journalists, Rijal assured support of the government for gender equality.
“The government is ready to address problems of women journalists,” said Rijal.
As per the book, there are 24 pc of female journalists working in media houses in the Capital. Physical attack, gender discrimination in payment and division of responsibility, violence, bullying, lack of provision for leave during postpartum, lack of training, unfavourable working time and lack of health and life insurance are some problems cited by women journalists.
