A woman patient, who was bitten by a snake while smearing her house early this morning, died at Gaushala-based primary health centre in Mahottari district due to negligence of the doctor.

The deceased is Pipariyadevi Sahani, 55, of Bharatpur-3. Sahani died for lack of timely treatment due to negligence of the hospital and doctors though she was rushed to the hospital soon after the snake bit.

In charge at the health post, Dr Ashok Kumar Yadav, admitted that Sahani died for lack of timely treatment as he did not have the bunch of keys of the room where the anti-venom was stored.

After the incidnet, family members of Sahani have refused to receive the body of Sahani until they were given compensation and action against guilty was taken. RSS
