Bihar offers Rs 28m to quake relief fund
The aid meant for rehabilitation of quake survivors was sent to the PM Relief Fund on Wednesday
Sep 10, 2015-Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Wednesday sent a cheque of around Rs 28 million to Prime Minister’s Relief fund for the rehabilitation of Nepal quake survivors.
According to Indian media, a statement from Bihar stated details of assistance extended by Bihar government to the people of Nepal after the country was ravaged by April 25 earthquake. The Bihar government, the statement said, sent buses to evacuate people stuck following the earthquake, made available food items and established camps for the victims.
- Chief Minister Nitish Kumar had made an appeal to people to contribute for Nepal quake survivors. Common people, groups, NGOs and public sector responded “overwhelmingly”, the statement said.
