Hindu activists hurled stones at Law Minister Narahari Acharya at Khullamanch in Kathmandu when he went to talk with a group of Hindu youths who have been staging a hunger strike demanding reinstatement of Hindu state.
The activists attacked the minister with stones on Wednesday while he was reading out a letter sent by Prime Minister Sushil Koirala, urging them to end their hunger strike. They said that their agreement with the prime minister was not implemented in the new constitution.
Sagar Katuwa, Kamal Prasad Joshi, Prem Nidhi Bharadwaj and Khem Acharya have been staging a group hunger strike for the past 17 days demanding Nepal be declared as a Hindu state.
