Gachhadar, Tharu leaders meeting big three at Baluwatar
After receiving a third letter from Prime Minister Sushil Koirala on Wednesday to come for dialouge, leaders from Tharuhat/Tharuwan Joint Struggle Committee and Madhesi Janadhikar Forum-Loktantrik (MJF-L) Chair Bijaya Kumar Gachhadar have reached Prime Minister’s official residence in Baluwatar on Thursday evening.After receiving a third letter from Prime Minister Sushil Koirala on Wednesday to come for dialouge, leaders from Tharuhat/Tharuwan Joint Struggle Committee and Madhesi Janadhikar Forum-Loktantrik (MJF-L) Chair Bijaya Kumar Gachhadar have reached Prime Minister’s official residence in Baluwatar on Thursday evening.
A total of 11 leaders from Tharu groups, including CA members from three big parties are attending the meeting. Leaders from Nepali Congress, CPN-UML and UCPN (Maoist) are also at the PM’s residence this evening.
MJF-L General Secretary Ram Janam Chaudhary said they would present a 7-point precondition for talks to Prime Minister.
The preconditions of Tharu leaders include recalling the Army back from Tarai districts, grant Martyr’s status to people killed during Tarai protests, provide free treatment to those injured, release the arrested leaders and cadres, drop the charges against those arrested, and reconsider the boundaries of federal states, among others.
