Samyukta Loktantrik Madhesi Morcha supporters hit the streets in Saptari since early Thursday morning, a day after the Madhes alliance decided to step up the agitation programmes.
Protesters resorted to vandalism and set Pakari Police Station on fire. There were no human casualties reported since the police personnel stationed there had been called early to the headquarters as support force. However, furniture and clothes along with other things were destroyed by fire.
Likewise, protesters vandalised the joint office of Saptakoshi municipality Ward no 8, 9 and 10. Fearing another mob attack personnel at Diman Police Station have also been pulled out to District Police Office.
