Humanitarian aid to 960 families

The aid of Rs 7500 to each of the family distributed by LWF with the support of Christian Aid (CA) through its local partner Human Rights Awareness and Development Centre (HURADEC) has come as a livelihood support for 460 households of Jiri, 300 of Suri and 200 of Marbu VDCs. CA has been providing relief and support to the quake-affected since April.
LWF Nepal provided assistance to the most-affected families in coordination with the local government agencies after conducting need assessments of the affected people of those VDCs.
Dr Prabin Manandhar, Country Director of LWF Nepal, said, “We have provided livelihood support to the most-affected families of Jiri, Suri and Marbu in Dolakha, one of the worst-hit districts.” He also said that LWF Nepal will further support 1,711 families worst-hit by the earthquake in the district.
LWF Nepal also provided two bundles of corrugated galvanized iron (CGI) sheets each to 1,042 households, tarpaulins, kitchen utensils and blankets to 1,420 households of the VDCs. It has also distributed ready-to-eat food, mattresses, blankets, tarpaulins and hygiene kits to 850 households in Bhirkot and 1,151 households in Japhe,and 440 solar lights in Bhirkot VDCs of Dolakha in the past.
The organization has been working in Rasuwa, Sindhupalchok, Dolakha, Kathmandu, Lalitpur and Bhaktapur districts providing relief and rehabilitation along with other development initiatives. LWF Nepal has provided relief to 21,005 families including those of Makawanpur and Kavre districts.
