Addressing an assembly in Masuriya of Kailali district on Wednesday, Baburam Bhattarai said the rulers of Kathmandu and New Delhi should speak on the matter. He underscored that everyone should come together on issues of national sovereignty and nationality.
He expressed his sadness over being accused as a foreign agent. “During the Panchyat era, democrats and republicans were subjected to similar vituperation by status-quoist. Verbal abuse would only increase bitterness and won’t solve the problems,” said leader Bhattarai, who recently severed his ties with the UCPN (Maoist).
He further said blamed the attitude of so-called high caste people, who consider only themselves the Nepalis and look down upon Tharus and the Madhesis as non-Nepalis, for the current problems. “Nepal can no longer belong to a single caste,” said leader Bhattarai.
