Maggie Doyne, the co-founder of Kopila Valley Children's Home, has been named one of the top ten CNN Hero of the Year, 2015.

Doyne, who is originally from New Jersey, USA, co-founded the Kopila Valley Children's Home along with Top Malla in 2007. Doyne had visited Nepal during a tour before college. When she met women and children who were coping with the 10 year-long civil war, she decided to help them with the money she made by babysitting.

With her saving of $5,000, she bought a piece of land in Surkhet. Doyne, along with the local people, formed Kopila Valley Children’s Home. Gradually, they also established Kopila Valley School in 2010, which now educates more than 350 students. Kopila Valley Children’s Home currently shelters 50 children. Doyne formed the BlinkNow Foundation to support Kopila Valley Children’s Home and School in Nepal.
