CPN (Masal) general secretary and veteran communist leader Mohan Bikram Singh has said that no demands of Madhes-based parties and India should be fulfilled, urging political parties to reject Indian interference in domestic affairs.

Terming the constitution as an historical achievement, Singh said that the contents of the constitution and selecting a prime minister are Nepal’s internal matter. “But India’s actions are intended to compromise Nepal’s sovereignty and integrity,” he said, “so there is a need of unity among political parties.”

Singh stressed on the need of delimiting electoral constituencies based on both geography and population and said that top government positions cannot be given to naturalized citizens. He also highlighted that the blockade imposed by India should be solved through international diplomatic initiation.

Meanwhile, Singh accused former Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai of being an accomplice of India and abetting Madhes-based parties in their plan to separate Tarai from Nepal.
