Indian PM Modi congratulates Oli on his election to premiership of Nepal

Indian Prime Minister’s office said in its twitter page that PM Modi talked to KP Sharma Oli over phone and congratulated him on being elected as the Prime Minister of Nepal.

During the conversation, Modi invited Oli to visit India, the Indian PMO's said in its twitter post.

Oli was elected to the post with the support of lawmakers from UCPN (Maoist), Rastriay Prajatantra Party-Nepal and Bijaya Kumar Gachhadar-led Madhesi Janadhikar Forum –Loktantrik in the election conducted at the Legislature-Parliament on Sunday.
The Indian government has been imposing an ‘unofficial trade blockade’ at all entry points along Nepal-India border after the promulgation of new constitution in Nepal citing the ongoing agitation in Tarai region that borders with India.
Also today, Chinese Ambassador to Nepal Wu Chuntai met PM-elect Oli at CPN-UML party office and congratulated him.
Following his victory in the election, UML Chairman Oli went to his party office from Parliament building in Nayabaneshwor.
