Nepal Airlines Corporation’s Airbus A320 jet has been grounded in Hong Kong after a catering truck pierced the fuselage of the jet and left a gaping hole.
The aircraft was being readied for a flight from Hong Kong International Airport when Captain Bijay Lama spotted the hole during pre-flight check up.
Captain Lama said that a catering truck had left a hole in the fuselage. The truck, however, had said that there was no damage on the aircraft.
Lama also said that the plane had averted a major disaster by identifying the damage in the fuselage. “Change in pressure in high altitude could have ripped the plane apart. It could have been a major disaster,” he said.
