Nepali Congress General Secretary Krishna Prasad Sitaula on Tuesday said that if there were any defects in the new constitution, it could be corrected through political consensus. 

Speaking at a greetings exchange and tea reception held by Nepali Congress at Inaruwa on Wednesday, General Secretary Sitaula claimed that the constitution had addressed the rights of all the communities. 

As the constitution is a progressive document, the reasonable demands can be incorporated through amendment, Sitaula added. 

He further said the federal modality, provision on citizenship and the form of government were the best. It is the duty of all the political parties to nurture the constitution in its nascent stage, he stressed. RSS
