Four national football players and a coach who stand accused of fixing various international matches are to stay one more week in detention for further investigation.The Special Court issued an order to this effect on Sunday.
Special Court Judges Mohan Raman Bhattarai, Narendra Shivakoti, and Bhupendra Rai issued the order. The Office of the Metropolitan Police Range Kathmandu had produced the accused players before the Special Court, seeking extension of their judicial remand.
Police have been carrying out investigation into the alleged involvement of national football team Captain Sagar Thapa, plaers Sandip Rai, Ritesh Thapa, Bikash Singh Chhetri and coach Anjan KC in fixing various matches.
