India wants to annex Tarai region through blockade: DPM Mainali
Deputy Prime Minister CP Mainali claimed the unofficial blockade imposed by India was the first step to disintegrate the country and annex it into the Indian territory.Deputy Prime Minister and Ministry of Women, Children and Social Welfare CP Mainali claimed the unofficial blockade imposed by India was the first step to disintegrate the country and annex it into the Indian territory.
At an interaction programme organised by Reporters Club in Kathmandu on Saturday, Mainali claimed the blockade was a part of Indian conspiracy to annex the Tarai region by disintegrating it from the rest of the country with the ‘one Madhes, one Pradesh’ (province) demand.
“This does not favors the stability of both the countries,” Minister Mainali said.
Mainali said India has not clarified on claims made by former RAW chief RK Yadav regarding Indian plans to break the Tarai region. Yadav, chief of RAW chief during Indira Gandhi’s tenure as PM, in his book, stated that India had planned to disintegrate the Tarai region. India is executing that plan through blockade, claimed Mainali.
Mainali also said only two-province in Madhes demand will not be addressed at any cost. The disputed districts Kailali, Kanchanpur, Sunsari, Morang and Jhapa districts will also not be included in the Madhes provinces, he said.
