A clash ensued between police and gamblers in Dhaneshpur of Bardiya district when police raided a house and attempted to arrest gamblers on early Friday morning.
A police team had raided house of one Dhanashyam Pandit early morning after receiving a tip-off about the gambling. Four police personnel, including two Inspectors, were injured in the scuffle.
Police fired 12 rounds on air to take the situation under control.
Police confiscated Rs. 200,000 in cash and five motorcycles from Pandit’s house. SP Govinda Ram Pariyar informed Inspector Chakra Malla, Bharat Singh Giri, Sub-Inspector Naresh Dhakal and constable Bhagat Bahadur Thapa were injured in the incident.
