As a part of the campaign, the Pratisthan’s programme called ‘Global Antibiotic Resistance Partnership Nepal (GARP-Nepal)’ organised a cycle rally in the Capital on Thursday in collaboration with Cycle City Network.
While inaugurating the rally, World health Organisation’s Nepal Chief Dr Josh Vandialaar said, “Consumption of antibiotic is increasing rapidly. Improper use of antibiotics leads to increased resistance of bacteria. This can degrade the effect of antibiotics. Thus, antibiotic medicines should be consumed under direction from physicians.”
Speaking at the event, program director of Antibiotic Resistance Partnership Nepal, Dr Sameer Mani Dixit, also stressed on the need of careful use of antibiotics.
Similarly, GARP-Nepal in coordination with Nepal Teaching Hospital’s Nepal Medical Student Society placed stalls in the vicinity of Teaching Hospital and Basantapur to raise awareness among the public.
