Government on Tuesday issued White Paper putting the economic growth at a bleak two percent due to the banda in the Tarai region and the blockade imposed by India.
Finance Minister Bishnu Poudel released the document amid a press conference at 7:30 pm today.
Minister Poudel said that the halt in the supply system has severly affected agricultural and non agricultural sectors due to which the government predicts the economic development to be at two percent.
The document has focused on the state of economy amid the ongoing Tarai banda and unofficial trade embargo imposed by India. It was endorsed by a cabinet meeting on Tuesday evening.
It is the fifth time the White Paper has been issued after Jana Andolan II in 2006.
