“Other entry points are gradually easing,” said Thapa, adding, “In few days time Birgunj entry point will also resume its regular business.”
It is to be noted that the Birgunj-Raxaul corridor accounts for transit of around two thirds of total trade of Nepal.
Speaking at nation-wide campaign to raise awareness on recently promulgated constitution in Hetauda on Saturday, DPM Thapa urged the agitating Madhes-centric parties to forgo their agitation and cooperate with the government.
DPM Thapa claimed that all demands of agitators have been met. He said demands like electoral constituencies based on population and proportional inclusive representation have been addressed. The issue of border demarcation will be resolved by forming a commission, he added.
