One person died when agitating cadres of Madhesi Morcha and police clashed at Gaur in Rautahat district on Sunday. This is the second clash in the district in as many days after Madhesi Morcha intensified their protests.
The victim has been identified as Sheikh Tabarej of Tejpakad VDC. Tabarej, who sustained bullent in his abdomen, was rushed to Gaur Hospital. He was declared dead at the hospital, Dr Krishna Sah confirmed.
Police fired several rounds of bullets in the air and tear gas shells to chase away the agitators after the latter rained stones and glass bottles targeting the security personnel.
Police have also been making announcements to organise peaceful protest programmes.
