The curfew order that was relaxed until 10 am today has been reimposed from 10:30 am indefinitely.
The students resorted to vandalism after a student died in police firing at BP Chowk in Gaur, the district headquarters of Rautahat, on Sunday. The deceased, identified as Sheikh Tabarej of Tejapakad-1 in the district, was hit in the abdomen and was rushed to the District Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The irate students, wielding sticks, vandalised the compound wall and burnt tyre in front of Katariya police office. They were barred from entering the police station.
Likewise, the students also attacked Bankul police beat, which lies 19 km away from Rautahar district headquarters near the Indian border. District Police DSP
Rajendra Pokharel informed that the students have become agitated since this morning and they also set ablaze the waiting room of the police beat.
