According to NEA Load Dispatch Center, there is only production of 300 megawatts electricity in the national grid in these days. This figure was 780 megawatts before winter. Similarly, 235 megawatts of electricity is being imported from India daily.
There is high demand (1,300 megawatts every day) for electricity in the country as its consumption has abruptly gone up mainly for cooking after a severe fuel crisis in the country resulted from the border obstructions in its supply.
The NEA last week had increased the duration of load-shedding hours. RSS
