The exhibition will showcase 125 stalls of various renewable and alternative energy technologies including solar, micro hydro, bio-fuel, biogas, wind energy and biomass, the centre told a press conference on Tuesday.
The annual event has served as an important platform in promoting the use of renewal energy technologies in Nepal and encouraging the private sector to invest in the renewal energy sector. This year’s edition is being held with an emphasis on a wider use of alternative and renewable energy to mitigate the fuel crisis.
According to the organisers, the visitors will also get to know about subsidies and soft loan provision that the government has initiated for the urban solar, waste to energy programme and household “gasification” technology, among others.
Renewable energy technology manufacturers, installers, and suppliers, universities and banks working in the area will display their projects, products and services during the event.
According to Ram Prasad Dhital, executive director of the AEPC, the country has generated 26MW electricity through mini/micro hydropower projects and installed around 350,000 biogas plants, 700,000 solar home systems and 1.2m improved cooking stoves. Various alternative and renewable energy technologies installed across the country have benefited around 3 million households.
